EVUM Motors is exhibiting its all-electric aCar at the IAA Transportation in two versions
Munich / Hanover, Sept. 15, 2022 – EVUM Motors is presenting its all-wheel drive electric commercial vehicle, developed and produced in Germany, at the IAA Transportation. With its versatility and very low operating costs, the robust and compact aCar meets the current needs, as shown by the exceptional demand from the municipal, agricultural and logistics/last mile sectors. This year, the focus of the trade fair presence is on the latter. EVUM Motors is pursuing the goal of accelerating international growth and establishing itself as an international automotive manufacturer.
Developed for rough use
The EVUM aCar emerged from a research project at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and was designed for the tougher circumstances in developing countries. The aim was to develop a robust, all-electric vehicle that is suitable for everyday use, cost-effective and enables mobility in remote regions while reducing it to the essential function as much as possible. Just three years after the company was launched, the team led by the founders Sascha Koberstaedt and Dr. Martin Šoltés started the production in series. Today, five years after the spin-off, numerous vehicles are already in use, a close-knit dealer network is available to customers and the orders keep coming. EVUM is thus not only a successful example of how to combine research and commercial success, but also of how to connect the metropolis and the surrounding area: “Built in Lower Bavaria, engineered in Munich, Made for a Better Future.”
High demand ensures commercial success
The aCar is enjoying a high demand coming from the municipal, agricultural, and last mile/logistics sectors. Customers appreciate the vehicle’s versatility, robust design and “Made in Germany” quality. The all-electric, zero-emission drive, the high payload of up to 1,200 kg, the tractive force of 1,000 kg (braked), the permanent all-wheel drive and the 3 KW 230 V socket as a mobile energy source are truly unique selling points and create the possibility for completely new applications.
In the logistics/last mile sector the aCar offers particular potential: its manoeuvrability, its reliability and the optional telematics system that enables digital fleet management. As an innovative e-utility vehicle manufacturer with production in Germany, EVUM Motors offers the possibility to flexibly realize small series or orders for larger fleet customers. All target groups can benefit from up to 70% lower operating costs (TCO) compared to conventionally powered vehicles and drastically reduce their CO2 emissions.
Two versions of the vehicle, a conversation with the founders
On the press day (19.09.2022), EVUMs founders will be available for a personal conversation, providing exciting insights regarding the development of the aCar – from research to industrialization. They also provide up-to-date information on the company’s further development and the importance of frugal innovation as a contribution to more sustainable mobility.
The exhibit at the EVUM booth is an aCar with three-way tipper, 23 kWh battery and power steering. The booth of our partner AL-KO features an aCar with a long wheelbase.
The next step: Internationalization
Due to the very positive business development and the high demand from numerous countries, EVUM Motors is taking big steps towards its goal of establishing itself as an international automobile manufacturer. In addition to investing in production and development, further activities will focus on expanding business activities towards neighbouring European countries.

About EVUM Motors
Founded out of a research project at the Technical University of Munich, EVUM Motors GmbH has its headquarter in Munich. The production facility of the versatile, robust and compact electronic utility vehicle with all-wheel drive, which was originally developed for use in Africa, is located in Bayerbach near Ergoldsbach in Lower Bavaria.
Just three years in, the aCar went into production at the end of 2020. After the extremely successful sales launch in D-A-CH, the company now has a tight dealer network with over 200 locations. EVUM Motors’ goal is to establish itself as an international car manufacturer.
